The Tourism Industry New Zealand Trust (TINZT) was established in 2007 for the following charitable purposes:


  • The education of persons involved in the New Zealand tourism industry and the education of all persons in New Zealand on matters relating to or for use in the tourism industry in New Zealand.


  • The fostering and promotion of a tourism industry in New Zealand based on the sustainable use and preservation of New Zealand’s natural assets.


TINZT owns and derives income from key New Zealand tourism industry events including TRENZ. 

Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) is the Trust Manager.

Grant Webster was appointed CEO of thl in December 2008, before which he was Chief Operating Officer – Attractions Division with the company for three years.  Grant’s background includes senior executive roles and directorships across the tourism, hospitality, gaming and retail industries. Immediately prior to joining thl Grant was a General Manager at SKYCITY Auckland. Grant is also Chair of Tourism Industry Aotearoa.

Jeroen Jongejans is a director of Dive! Tutukaka, an award-winning Northland business. He has been involved with the adventure tourism and outdoors industry for over 20 years and has also been on many boards, including Tourism Industry Aotearoa and Northland Tourism Development Group.

Fergus Brown is Chief Executive of HAPNZ, which is a full member of Tourism Industry Aotearoa, BYATA and an allied member of the Tourism Export Council New Zealand. He is a TIA Board member.
